Welcome to Hayden Lakes!

Moving to a new subdivision, city, or state can be stressful and full of to-do lists. Through our personal experience as residents, we have compiled some of the major benchmarks for you in the following resources. We have included information for residents that are new to Houston, new to Texas, or first time homeowners. This page is chock full of information, but we are under no illusion that it’s comprehensive. If you have any questions that you feel are unanswered, you can always feel free to contact the Welcoming Committee at Welcome@haydenlakeshoa.org. Additionally, the Board is very responsive to all inquiries.

Electricity

Our area of Texas is deregulated. This means you may shop around for an electricity provider. The provider is solely the company that will set your rate and bill you for your usage. The electricity is delivered by CenterPoint. This is who maintains the power grid in our area. They have set delivery fees that will be included in your bill from the provider.

Use PowerToChoose to pick your service provider.

Internet/Phone

Our local service providers include AT&T and Xfinity.

Natural Gas

CenterPoint Energy is our neighborhood’s service provider.

Mail

Our local Post Office is located at 16635 Spring Cypress Rd., Cypress, TX 77429 (Phone: 281.373.9125). Visit them to pick up your mail key. You will need to bring proof of residence such as closing documents or a utility bill. It is free for the first rekey after moving in and $20 for replacement keys. When you pick up your keys, the post office will tell which cluster mailbox group you will use and your box number.

Grand Lakes Junior High (7-8)
Tomball Memorial High (9-12)

Lone Star College University Park and Tomball campuses are also in our area.

Registration information can be found by visiting Tomball ISD. Then clicking Students & Families, then Registration. The website also has the school calendar, information for bus routes, bus registration, and much more.

Vehicle

DMV For car registration if you’re new to Texas. If you’re moving from elsewhere in Texas, to renew or update your registration.

Toll Tags – There are several different toll tag agencies in Texas. Most are interoperable with all of the other agencies. The local Toll Tag is EZ Tag. You are not required to have a toll tag but it does reduce the fees for using the toll roads. Most toll roads no longer collect fees by a cashier but will instead mail an invoice if the vehicle does not have a tag. For more information and to sign up, visit https://www.hctra.org

Elections

Voting registration, sample ballots, and more can be found at Harris Votes. See also “Elected Officials” below.

1. Email Beazer with a Warranty Deed, utility bill or property tax statement as proof of ownership and let them know that you’re the new owner.
2. Contact Professional Warranty Service Corporation and request a Subsequent Home Buyer Acknowledgement and Assignment form. You’ll turn that in with proof of transfer of ownership.
