Hi Everyone,
I hope everyone is recovering from the storm and your family is getting back to normal.
During the storm, the access control system that allows you to swipe and enter the pool was damaged beyond repair. I think this was in part due to the storm and part to the builders because of where they mounted the equipment.
The access control system is in the same room as the pool chemicals and the acid and chlorine caused the system to rust at a much faster rate than it should. We have been moving any new equipment (Camera system, Router) we install to a different location in the building to reduce the chance of this from occurring.
We have reached out to the security company that installed the system and the version we have went end of life about 4 years ago and the company that made it shut down. We are waiting on a quote for a new system and to relocate the wires to a safer location. The new system isn’t compatible with all the cards that have been issued. Until we get a better grasp on how many people will be affected, we will produce a plan to replace the incompatible cards. We are fairly confident we can export the information from a backup we have of the system and import it into the newer system, but only time will tell. The estimate the installer gave us was 2-3 weeks to install a new system. As you know this is pool season and they are very busy fixing other neighborhoods access control systems.
Tomorrow at noon the lifeguards will start guarding the pool from 12pm-9pm. Since we have no way of verifying who has signed a waiver and who hasn’t for Swim at Your Own Risk (SAYOR) we will not allow access to the pool during SAYOR hours. Moving to SAYOR was a risk for the neighborhood and we can’t take the chance on someone getting hurt that hasn’t signed a waiver. I know this in convenient, but like others we didn’t plan on a natural disaster damaging our equipment.
If you see people swimming outside the hours of 12pm-9pm please talk to them and tell them they can’t be swimming. You can also email the board@haydenlakeshoa.org. The last thing we want is someone to get hurt or even worse, so we can’t condone jumping the fence.
Sincerely,
Hayden Lakes Board
