Neighborhood Updates
Compliance Inspections
The Board has been working with Sterling to further understand their inspection process and our expectations. Part of this is their notes, what residents see on their accounts, and when letters are mailed out. Below are a few notations you may see online and what they mean. Compliance modified by user during inspection - This means the previous issue was opened by the inspector and a notation was made. In the program used by Sterling, the user is the inspector. This does not denote whether the...

Solicitation of candidates will be mailed in the next six weeks. Candidates will be assembled, and a virtual open forum may be held before the end of the year. Voting will be done by mail and will begin in the first or second week of December. Winner(s) will be announced at the annual meeting early in January...
Water Trucks / Hydrant Use
The Board has fielded several complaints about water trucks constantly being on Hayden Lakes Dr to refill for the construction going on across Boudreaux. After discussion with the contractor and MUD5, we have arrived at several conclusions. The trucks are following proper protocol. They have the right meters, and the work site has not yet been approved to turn on water. The construction site falls within MUD5, so the hydrants down Shaw, Northpointe, or towards 249 on Boudreaux are not...
AED
A HeartSine Samaritan 350P defibrillator was purchased for the pool pavilion. It is hanging on the pavilion wall facing the pool near the water fountains and will be available anytime the pool is open. We encourage residents to watch this video and to familiarize themselves with the location. If you witness anyone tampering with the AED in a non-emergency situation, please let us know immediately. Events & Social Commitee Update
Several weeks back, the Board sent out a call to action with request for more volunteers to lighten the load on the Social Committee. There was only one respondent to that call. As such, the Memorial Day Pool Party was not planned and will not occur. The Board feels events are a great way to build and maintain fellowship in the community, but without your support, events will be cut drastically. We appreciate your understanding, and if you have any inclination to volunteer in planning, set up,...
Update 8/28/2023
To all neighbors of Hayden Lakes, We held an open Board meeting last Wednesday and appreciate the participation of several residents. Below is a summary of what was discussed as well as a few additional items. Landscaping Most of the crepe myrtles at the entrance as well as the roses at the roundabout and in front of the pool have died. Neither was due to the summer heat and drought. The crepe myrtles were significantly damaged during the early freeze and we gave them...
February 16, 2023 Update

Vendors & Contracts
The Board is happy with our current vendors’ professionalism, communication, and quality and has decided to retain them through the 2023 calendar year. To date, landscaping and property management contracts have been executed. Landscaping had no price increase but included a potential fuel surcharge that is being accounted for in the preliminary 2023 budget. Property management had <$100 price increase/month.Both contracts have been reworked to last through 2023 to align with budgeting...
Lakes & Landscaping
As many of you noticed, the middle fountain of lake two was down for some time. It is now repaired. Although the malfunction was attributed to the nutria, further inquiry showed that the motor was tangled in tons of fishing line. The bill to repair it was several thousand dollars. To all fishermen, please take care in casting near the fountains. Now that the nutria found our lakes, it’s likely their presence will be ongoing. For a few reasons, the Board’s new position is to wait and see how to...
Swim at Your Own Risk
Reminder that SAYOR starts Wednesday the 6th, from 6a-11:30a. You MUST have turned in a SAYOR waiver to Sterling and give them 1-2 business days to process and activate your card for morning hours. As you signed on the waiver, please do not open the gate for residents who say their cards do not work. At this time, all access cards should be working. Please see haydenlakeshoa.org/pool for the waiver and full pool rules.
Swim at Your Own Risk Update

Upcoming Budget Update & Meeting
The Board will be releasing the preliminary 2023 budget for community review in the coming days. Please be on the lookout for that – community discussion via email or during the next meeting is welcomed and appreciated. To that end, the fall Board meeting will be scheduled 10-14 days following the budget release. In that meeting, we will hold open forum time for any questions or comments. We hope to hold that meeting before the month ends. The next meeting after that will be the annual meeting...
Projects on the Horizon
We have received four proposals for replacing the foliage which has been missing since the freeze of 2021: in front of the pool area, behind the pool area, at the Enclave entrance, and at the Enclave playground. In total, the cost is ~$20k. Should these prove to be cost prohibitive for the 2023 budget, we may attempt another community event to do some gardening! The project to connect the sidewalks from lake 2 to 3 is still front of mind for the Board. Pending actual costs through September and...
Lake Algae
Below is the response we received after discussing the increasing algae issue with our lake management company. We have taken their advice and the fountains will now turn on at 4am until lake levels return to normal. Protecting aquatic life and fishing resources for our residents is the primary concern. If a drought continues, we will stay in contact with the vendor for any further recommendations. "The lack of rain, high air and higher than normal water temperatures for this time of year, and...

We are working on getting the pool chemicals stabilized. Because of this there have been some brief delayed openings to correct some issues. We appreciate your patience. Opening day there were some issues with the gate, but those have been resolved. If you are still having issues that means your card is...
